A 1-year-old boy was critically injured in Brooklyn on Monday night when a drunken driver crashed into another vehicle, according to police reports.
Natalie Leonard, 28, was driving a black sedan north on Mother Gaston Boulevard in Brownsville when she collided with a red 2018 Acura at the intersection of Dumont Avenue around 7 p.m., authorities said.
The toddler was seated in the lap of a 21-year-old woman in the passenger seat of the Acura, according to police.
The passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, as per police reports.
The 1-year-old was rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.
The 21-year-old woman was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.
Leonard was treated at Kings County Hospital and is in stable condition.
The 38-year-old driver of the Acura did not sustain any injuries.
Leonard has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, vehicular assault, acting in a manner injurious to a child, driving while intoxicated, and several other traffic violations.
