A Georgia woman has admitted to keeping $10,000 she raised for the family of Mica Miller, the wife of a South Carolina pastor she accused of being abusive before she was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in April.
Susan Lynn Nelson confessed in a live TikTok video to using the money for herself, calling her actions “absolutely vile.” She admitted to using the funds raised through online auctions for personal expenses such as booze, mortgage payments, and groceries.
Nelson denied using the money to hire a sex worker, but reports suggest she only sent $180 of the $15,000 raised to Miller’s family. She described her actions as “pretty sh–ty” and acknowledged her need for treatment.
Nelson stated that she no longer has the funds and admitted to defrauding people as a “habit.” She confessed to Miller’s parents in September and expressed remorse for her actions.
Miller, 30, died by suicide on April 27, following allegations of abuse by her husband, Pastor John-Paul Miller. Police ruled her death as suicide, and her family is urging anyone who contributed money to contact the FBI.
