Tragedy struck at a Texas park as a shooting incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals and multiple injuries on Saturday, according to authorities.
The fatal incident occurred just before 11 p.m. during a Juneteenth celebration at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, located approximately 19 miles north of Austin.
Police Chief Allen Banks revealed that the violence erupted between two groups during a concert at the event, leading to gunfire that claimed the lives of two innocent victims who were not involved in the initial altercation.
The shooting took place near a vendor area away from the concert stage, where police officers and firefighters attending the event quickly responded to provide emergency medical assistance to the wounded victims who were subsequently taken to local hospitals for treatment.
As the investigation unfolds, authorities have not yet apprehended a suspect and are uncertain about the number of shooters involved in the incident.
Expressing his condolences, Mr. Banks stated, “It breaks your heart for a family that was coming out to enjoy their evening and now their life is forever changed as a result of somebody who could care less about somebody else’s life.”
