DENVER—A small plane crashed and landed upside down on a Denver-area golf course Wednesday, but both occupants were able to walk away without serious injuries, authorities confirmed.
According to South Metro Fire Rescue, one person sustained minor injuries but declined hospital transportation, while the other person escaped unharmed.
The incident involved a Cessna 172 that went down shortly after departing from Centennial Airport, located approximately 5 miles north of Meridan Golf Club. The crash site was identified near the seventh hole, as reported by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation into the crash will be conducted by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, as announced by the sheriff’s office and fire rescue team.
