A disturbing incident occurred at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station where a group of nine teens attacked a 16-year-old black teenager, hurling racial slurs and physically assaulting him. The attackers, described as a crazed white mob, threw a banana at the victim, used racial slurs, and proceeded to kick and punch him before stealing one of his shoes on the mezzanine level of the station.
Although the victim initially declined medical attention, he later sought treatment at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health for head injuries. The assault was captured on video and shared on Instagram, gaining attention before being removed.
