A 47-year-old man was fatally shot inside a Brooklyn subway station Wednesday night, according to police.
The victim was on the mezzanine level of the Rockaway Avenue station on the C line near the MetroCard machines when he was shot in the head shortly after 11 p.m., police and sources said.
The man was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
No arrests have been made.
Authorities late Wednesday were canvassing for video surveillance in order to identify a suspect.
The deadly shooting is the latest in a spate of subway violence to hit the Big Apple.
A machete-wielding suspect allegedly slashed a 31-year-old man on a Bronx subway last Saturday, leaving the victim with injuries to his head and arm, police said then.
And a stranger attacked a 16-year-old straphanger on another Bronx subway early Tuesday morning after he picked a fight with the teen.
The teen was slashed in the back of the head by a massive blade, police sources said.
