An 85-year-old man was assaulted in Hell’s Kitchen in a random attack on Friday, as reported by the police and a news source.
The elderly victim was attacked on a sidewalk at the corner of West 43rd Street and Ninth Avenue around 4:45 p.m., according to the authorities.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found the injured man with head trauma.
He was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Photos showed blood splattered on a section of the sidewalk that was cordoned off as police officers were present following the shocking incident.
According to ABC 7, the attack was unprovoked.
Police have reported that one suspect is in custody awaiting charges.
