White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan has confirmed reports that civilians were killed during Israel’s mission to rescue hostages held by the terrorist group Hamas.
Israeli forces have successfully rescued a total of seven people from the Palestinian enclave. However, an estimated 120 hostages are still believed to be held captive, with at least 43 confirmed dead by authorities.
During a news conference in France on June 8 alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, President Joe Biden expressed his joy at the return of the rescued Israeli hostages. He also reassured the public that the United States is committed to bringing all remaining hostages home, stating, “We will not stop working until all the hostages come home.”
