A man fatally stabbed in a Manhattan subway station during rush hour
According to police, a 40-year-old man was fatally stabbed at the turnstiles of the 175th Street and Fort Washington Avenue station in Washington Heights just before 6 p.m. The victim sustained several stab wounds to the torso.
Straphangers were left feeling unsettled over the deadly subway violence that occurred Friday night. Isaac Santiago from Lebanon, Pennsylvania, expressed his shock, stating, “It’s crazy. That’s just crazy. It’s getting real bad out here.” He opted for an Uber as A trains were bypassing the station that night.
Ayan Malakar, a hospital worker from Fort Lee, New Jersey, was also taken aback by the incident, saying, “I’ve never heard of someone getting stabbed over here. It’s shocking — here all of a sudden someone being stabbed. That’s definitely scary — something to be worried about.”
