Four Canadian airlines have been recognized among the top airlines in the world in the latest annual survey conducted by air transport rating organization SKYTRAX. The rankings are based on customer feedback collected through an online survey.
Porter Airlines, which started operations in 2006, made a significant jump from 99th place in 2023 to 57th place in 2024. The airline now operates flights from Toronto’s Island Airport and Pearson International Airport to various destinations in Canada and the United States.
Air Transat, based in Montreal, climbed to the 59th spot in the rankings, up from 53rd in the previous year. The airline was honored as the world’s best leisure airline and the best leisure airline in North America.
Westjet secured the 64th spot on the list, maintaining its position from the previous year. Meanwhile, Qatar Airways from Saudi Arabia claimed the top spot for the seventh time.
The survey, conducted from September 2023 to May 2024, involved participants from over 100 countries. SKYTRAX ensures the authenticity of entries by screening IP addresses and user information to eliminate any duplicate, suspect, or ineligible submissions.
