While I am not a nationalist, I do not support the idea of a world government. I believe in the principles of cosmopolitanism, free trade, and open borders immigration. Nationalism, in my view, is a significant issue in the modern world.
Despite my support for free migration and the concept of “voting with your feet,” I am against the establishment of a global state. A world government would limit the freedom to choose where to live and could potentially lead to a global dictatorship. It may not even be necessary to address the world’s problems and could make things worse.
Advocates for a world government overlook the negative impacts it could have on individual freedom and democratic processes. It is essential to consider the consequences before pursuing such a drastic measure.
