An asylum seeker, who was a prisoner of conscience in China for a total of 10 years due to his spiritual practice, shared his experience of torture with the crowd. This occurred during a march in central London where hundreds of Falun Gong practitioners from Europe gathered to raise awareness about the Chinese Communist Party’s ongoing persecution that has spanned 25 years. During the event, attendees also heard from various MPs and peers who expressed their support for the practitioners’ freedom of belief and condemned the CCP’s human rights violations, including forced organ harvesting. Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline founded by Mr. Li Hongzhi, promotes the values of “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” and has faced severe persecution in China since 1999. One practitioner at the event, seeking asylum in the UK, recounted being tortured in a Chinese prison, while another called on Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to pressure CCP leaders to release Falun Gong practitioners, including his father. The event highlighted the brutal treatment faced by Falun Gong practitioners, including torture, forced labor, and medical examinations of their blood and organs. The Chinese regime has been accused of committing crimes against humanity through forced organ harvesting, primarily targeting Falun Gong practitioners. Attendees also called on the UK government to condemn the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and urge China to end the brutal treatment immediately. Ding also called on Sir Keir to undertake various measures, such as denouncing international repression and spying on Falun Gong practitioners, halting extradition agreements with communist China, probing into the forced harvesting of organs from Falun Gong followers and other detainees, and imposing sanctions on individuals and organizations involved in the persecution of Falun Gong adherents.
