Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, a potential vice presidential candidate, stated that he has not yet received any vetting materials for the position.
During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Pritzker expressed his commitment to being the governor of Illinois and campaigning for Democratic victories across the country. He highlighted his efforts in Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Arizona, emphasizing the importance of winning nationwide and his support for Kamala Harris’s presidential bid.
Harris, who is set to secure the Democratic nomination following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 race, is expected to announce her running mate soon. Various names, including Senator Mark Kelly and Governors Roy Cooper, Josh Shapiro, and Gretchen Whitmer, have been considered.
Prior to Biden’s decision, Pritzker was also considered a potential presidential candidate due to his business background and financial resources. After endorsing Harris and engaging with Democratic insiders, he threw his support behind her campaign.
While appearing on “Morning Joe,” Democratic Governor Tim Walz focused on criticizing Harris’s opponents rather than discussing his own potential role in her campaign.
“There is angst [in America]. Because robber barons like JD Vance and Donald Trump gutted the Midwest,” Walz remarked.
