State Department spokesman Vedant Patel emphasized on Wednesday that the United States was not involved in the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. The Biden administration, however, continues to stress the importance of “urge restraint” from all parties involved in order to prevent an escalation of tensions.
