LULAC officials are protesting outside the attorney general’s office, claiming that Latinos are being targeted for political gain. The organization is calling on the Department of Justice to look into the raids. Authorities seized documents and electronics from the homes of those raided, leading to further scrutiny and protests from activists and legislators. The attorney general has emphasized the importance of election integrity and has launched multiple investigations into alleged voter fraud in Texas. Governor Abbott announced the removal of over 1 million ineligible voters from the state’s voter rolls. Abbott stated that the identities of undocumented immigrants who participated in voting will be handed over to Paxton for further scrutiny and potential legal measures.
