A suspect armed with a machete attacked a man on a Bronx subway early in the morning over the weekend, just two years after allegedly stabbing another victim in a hate crime on public transit, according to police.
Runadieo Jordan, 54, reportedly pulled out the weapon and slashed a 31-year-old man on a northbound 2 train at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Saturday.
The victim sustained injuries to the head and arm during the recent attack.
Following an argument between the suspect and victim as the train arrived at the Allerton Avenue subway station, Jordan allegedly attacked the man with the machete before fleeing the scene and evading capture, as per authorities.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.
This incident is not the first time Jordan has been involved in a serious subway crime. In June 2022, he allegedly stabbed a man in another Bronx train car in what was deemed an anti-gay hate crime.
Jordan was reported to have shouted homophobic slurs at the victim during the attack, which occurred as the train approached the 3rd Avenue-149th Street station in Melrose.
Authorities charged Jordan with two counts of assault as a hate crime, criminal possession of a weapon, and aggravated harassment as a hate crime.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
