Police Officer’s Heroic Efforts Save Ricky Pearsall After Shooting
Rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, recently drafted by the 49ers, was shot in the chest during an attempted robbery in San Francisco by a 17-year-old assailant.
Sgt. Joelle Harrell of the San Francisco Police Department was instrumental in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. She quickly responded to the scene upon hearing gunshots, finding Pearsall shirtless and bleeding profusely.
Harrell took swift action, applying pressure to Pearsall’s wound and comforting him until paramedics arrived. She also provided support by asking him questions and offering reassurance.
Despite the severity of the situation, Harrell’s presence and actions helped stabilize Pearsall until he could receive further medical attention.
Pearsall, fortunately, survived the ordeal and was released from the hospital the following day. The 49ers expressed their gratitude to the San Francisco Police Department, medical personnel, and hospital staff for their support during this challenging time.
