Helene gave us a peek into a world without power grids, and it’s not a direction many Americans want to head in. My experience during Hurricane Helene was a mix of spiritual calm, sobering realities, and gratitude. Despite being without power for six days, I found comfort in the fact that not everyone was in the same situation. The storm made me realize how dependent we are on electricity and raised concerns about our collective future. The experience also highlighted the incredible work of those restoring power, for which I am deeply grateful. Thank you so much, I am truly grateful!
I have been deeply moved by the kindness of neighbors and acquaintances who have checked in on me to make sure I am okay. The genuine care and concern for the well-being of seniors in our community shows the incredible goodness that exists in people’s hearts. It is heartwarming to see how a common threat, like the loss of power during Hurricane Helene, can bring us all closer together.
Despite the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, it has shown us a glimpse of a world where people unite in harmony and friendship during times of crisis. Let us hope for fewer natural disasters and more unity among humanity.
