At an event honoring Israel and commemorating the events of Oct. 7, 2023, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz advocated for the deportation of foreign students who harass or threaten Jews. The event, organized by America for Israel and other Jewish groups near Dallas, featured survivor stories from the Holocaust and the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, as well as discussions on combating antisemitism in schools and on college campuses. State lawmakers discussed potential legislation to address campus antisemitism, including the deportation of foreign nationals targeting Jewish students. Bugana suggested, “We can handle it later.”
After enduring a long journey to the festival, navigating back roads for hours, and hiding from a terrorist attack, they embarked on the five-hour trip back home, assisting injured individuals along the way.
“When we arrived at her house, the gas light turned on,” she recalled.
In his keynote speech, Ted Cruz condemned the heinous acts committed by Hamas on Oct. 7, labeling it as the most significant mass killing of Jews in a single day since the Holocaust.
Cruz criticized politicians who called for a ceasefire or for Israel to stand down following the attack, questioning, “Who do you stand with?”
Describing the disturbing videos from the attack, Cruz emphasized the brutality and racism behind the murders, highlighting the inhumane treatment of the victims.
He condemned the antisemitism displayed by pro-Hamas groups on college campuses, attributing it to what he called “cultural Marxism.”
Cruz received applause when he advocated for the arrest, prosecution, expulsion, and deportation of those threatening Jewish students, especially if they were foreign nationals.
He criticized the Biden administration for releasing funds to Iran in exchange for American hostages and lifting oil sanctions, warning of the dangers of funding terrorism.
Characterizing Iran as “unambiguously evil,” Cruz emphasized the need to take threats from hostile nations seriously, citing the parallels between the threats faced by America and Israel.
He concluded by reminding the audience of the importance of believing those who openly express intentions of harm.
