“I want to ensure that we are tough on criminals,” stated LiPetri, emphasizing his stance on law and order.
He also expressed his support for the death penalty for those convicted of killing police officers.

Regarding illegal immigration and border policy, Suozzi mentioned his past opposition to asylum applications outside ports of entry and credited an executive order for reducing the number of applications.
He also mentioned working with conservative Rep. Morgan Luttrell on immigration issues, showcasing his bipartisan approach.
LiPetri pointed out Suozzi’s vote against the SAVE Act, which Rep. Luttrell supported.
If elected, LiPetri pledged to implement a fully funded biometric entry system at the border, reinstate a “stay-in-Mexico” policy for asylum seekers, and end the practice of “catch and release.”
He also promised to support mass deportations to relieve the strain on social services and reduce the presence of criminals in American communities.
