Election officials in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, have identified numerous potentially fraudulent voter registration forms, with around 2,500 applications flagged for review. The suspected fraudulent forms were delivered in two batches, prompting an investigation by county officials.
During an Oct. 25 press conference, Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams revealed that approximately 60 percent of the reviewed forms showed signs of fraud. Detectives in Lancaster County uncovered instances of applications with matching handwriting, unknown signatures, inaccurate addresses, false personal identification information, and false names. Some forms even contained accurate voter information, despite the listed applicants denying they had requested the forms.
Adams confirmed violations of both the crimes code and elections code, including instances of forgery that could result in felony charges carrying prison time and fines. The alleged fraudulent voter registration forms do not appear to favor a specific party, according to Lancaster County Commissioner Ray D’Agostino.
Adams mentioned that two other counties are also investigating suspicious voter application forms, but declined to disclose their identities. The concerns over voter fraud come at a critical time for Pennsylvania, as the state could play a pivotal role in the outcome of the upcoming presidential election.
Former President Donald Trump won Pennsylvania in 2016, while President Joe Biden secured the state in 2020. Recent polling data shows a tight race in Pennsylvania, with Trump narrowly leading Vice President Kamala Harris. In the senate race, incumbent Sen. Bob Casey holds a slight lead over his Republican challenger, David McCormick.
