Jon Stewart has agreed to continue hosting “The Daily Show” on Monday nights until December 2025, as per an announcement by Paramount on Monday. Stewart, who returned to host the show in early 2024 for the election cycle, will also remain as the executive producer of the satirical news program.
Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, expressed his excitement about Stewart leading “The Daily Show” for another year, praising his ability to provide clear-eyed insights amidst the noise.
Stewart’s tenure on “The Daily Show” earned him 21 Prime-Time Emmys, the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2022, and another Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series. Stewart expressed his joy over the win, stating that it made him very happy.
“The Daily Show” airs Mondays through Thursdays at 11 p.m. ET on Comedy Central and is available for streaming on Paramount+ the following day.
