The “benefactor” of beloved New York City artist Sabina Rosas, who was found dead in a posh Hamptons spa on Monday, confessed to her murder before blowing his brains out, officials say.
“I confirmed the confession by reading a message the decedent sent to a family member immediately prior to his death,” Edward Howell, the Wayne County, Pennsylvania, coroner told the Tri-County Independent.
Howell did not identify the family member who received the message from Gannon, 56, a flooring contractor who was dating Rosas, 33, also known as Sabina Khorramdel.
The coroner also did not say what form the message took, whether a text, email or voice message — or divulge the wording of the missive.
Gannon and Rosas checked into the $1,000-a-night Shou Subi Ban House in Water Mill, LI, on Sunday. They both had massages, and she had a facial, sources said.
The next morning, he left alone after calling Uber to drive him 220 miles to his home at 19 Hidden Brook Drive in Berlin Township, Pennsylvania. Her body was found around noon by a spa employee.
The coroner issued a statement Wednesday, saying Gannon, 56, died of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head.
“The decedent confessed to committing the homicide immediately prior to taking his own life,” it said.
Suffolk County law-enforcement authorities remain tight-lipped about Rosas’ cause of death, saying only it was the result of “violence.” Officials have refused to say how she died, or reveal the murder weapon.
“The suspect is dead. That’s it, it’s over,” a spokesperson for the Suffolk County Police Department told The Post when asked about the pending autopsy results Thursday.
The Ruyo Journal, which Rosas had co-founded to highlight Central Asian art, posted a statement on Instagram Friday: “We implore the media to cease the scrutiny surrounding her death. The sensationalism from the tabloids has only added to our pain.”
The statement added that “individuals are impersonating Sabina’s fiance’ and best friends,” and threatened to sue “if private data or information is shared.”
Gannon’s wife of 25 years, Karen, sued him for divorce on June 20, 2022, records show. The split was finalized on Jan. 26.
