Several Bread Brands Recalled Over Metal Pieces Discovered in Products

Consumers are advised by CFIA not to consume any of the products listed in its Nov. 4 advisory.

The recall was initiated by Wonder Brands Inc., following the Oct. 30 CFIA recall of Sifto brand Hy·Grade Salt after metal was found in its bulk products.

In a press release, Wonder Brands stated that the recall was due to foreign material contamination in bulk salt received from a supplier, affecting only one of their bakeries.

Notices for the recalled bread sold in their stores were posted by Costco and Giant Tiger late last month. Giant Tiger’s recall included 15 Wonder Brands products, while Costco’s recall included three Country Harvest breads and one Wonderbread product.

The Country Harvest products recalled in the CFIA advisory are:

• 14 Grains 100% Whole Grain Brown Bread
• Ancient Grains 100% Whole Grain Brown Bread
• Everything Seasoned Multigrain Bread
• Flax & Quinoa 100% Whole Grain Brown Bread
• Herb & Garlic Seasoned Herb Bread
• No Sugar Added 100% Whole Wheat Bread
• No Sugar Added White with Whole Grains Bread with Grains
• Oat & Honey 100% Whole Grain Brown Bread
• Seeds & Grains 100% Whole Grain Brown Bread
• Sourdough Multigrain Bread
• Stone Milled 100% Whole Wheat Bread
• Whole Grain & Protein Blend Protein Multigrain Bread

The Wonder products being recalled are:

• 100% Whole Wheat Bread
• 100% Whole Wheat Bread
• Classic White Bread
• White Bread
• White + Fibre – White Bread with added Oat Hull Fibre
• White Hamburger Buns
• White Hotdog Buns

The D’Italiano products being recalled are:

• Brioche Style Hamburger Buns
• Original Hamburger Buns
• Sesame Hamburger Buns

The Great Value products being recalled are:

• 12 Grains Multigrain Loaf
• Ancient Grains Multigrain Loaf
• Flax & Quinoa Multigrain Loaf
• White Bread
• 100% Whole Wheat Bread

The No Name products being recalled are:

• 100% Whole Wheat Bread
• Original Bread

The Giant Value products being recalled are:

• 100% Whole Wheat Bread
• White Bread
