The holiday season at the Disneyland Resort kicks off this Friday, coinciding with the grand opening of the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction.
Visitors will have the chance to meet Santa Claus and beloved Disney characters at the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland, explore festive ornaments hidden throughout the Downtown Disney District on Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail, and enjoy cultural performances at the Disney Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure Park.
Other highlights include daily showings of the Christmas Fantasy Parade, the enchanting “it’s a small world” holiday lighting, and the Main Street, U.S.A. holiday tree lighting ceremony.
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and various other Disney characters will be dressed in their holiday best.
The Disney Festival of Holidays, running until January 6th, will feature daily presentations of “Mirabel’s Fiesta de Navidad” from the animated film “Encanto.” Additionally, guests can enjoy the Disney Viva Navidad! Street Party and listen to Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland perform bilingual holiday songs at Carthay Circle on weekdays.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure promises an exciting water ride through the bayou with Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, and gator pal Louis. It offers a musical journey filled with surprises, culminating in a thrilling 50-foot drop and a swinging soirée.
The voices of Anika Noni Rose, Jenifer Lewis, Bruno Campos, and Michael Leon Wooley from the original “The Princess and the Frog” film have returned to bring the characters to life on this new ride.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure replaces Splash Mountain, offering guests a fresh and exciting experience in place of the former attraction.
