Starting on January 1, 2025, hotels in New York with 50 or more rooms will be prohibited from providing guests with individual bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Any hotel found in violation of this law will face a fine of $250 for the first offense and $500 for each subsequent violation. Advocates of the legislation believe that it will help reduce plastic waste in the environment.
