An alleged drunk driver was involved in a chaotic high-speed chase across counties in Texas
Authorities in Texas were led on a wild chase by Audrey Marie Schneider, 37, who was seen driving erratically with an open container of alcohol in her vehicle. The incident began when a state trooper tried to pull her over for a traffic violation on I-35 in Comal County near San Antonio.
Instead of stopping, Schneider reportedly accelerated, sparking a destructive pursuit that spanned Comal and Bexar Counties. She drove recklessly, collided with multiple vehicles, including a police car, and ended up in a shopping plaza.
A video captured Schneider driving at high speeds in the parking lot as patrol cars pursued her. She attempted to escape by ramming into police and civilian vehicles before finally being cornered outside a salon in the shopping center.
Despite her attempt to flee into the salon, Schneider was apprehended by a trooper after a brief scuffle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
She now faces charges including evading arrest, aggravated assault on a public servant, and driving while intoxicated with an open container. This is not Schneider’s first brush with the law concerning alcohol and driving, as court records indicate a prior incident in 2017.
After being evaluated for injuries, Schneider was taken to the Bexar County Jail to await further legal proceedings.
