Tom Homan, the new border czar, visited south Texas on Nov. 26 to serve Thanksgiving meals and convey a message of gratitude to the state troopers and National Guard members working near the border. Alongside Texas Governor Gregg Abbott, Homan expressed appreciation for their dedication and hard work in protecting not just Texas but the entire nation.
During his visit, Homan, who has served under six U.S. presidents, including Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama, reiterated his support for Trump’s policy of mass deportations. As the appointed individual in charge of deporting illegal aliens back to their country of origin, Homan emphasized the importance of upholding the nation’s laws and addressing the ongoing border challenges.
Homan warned against harboring or hiding illegal immigrants, stating that such actions are considered felonies. He also criticized any mayor or governor who opposes efforts to enforce immigration laws, highlighting the need for cooperation in finding solutions to the complex issues at the border.
In a recent statement, Homan expressed his willingness to hold Denver Mayor Mike Johnston accountable for resisting mass deportation efforts, emphasizing the importance of negotiating with reasonable individuals to address immigration challenges. He also commended the expansion of floating marine barriers along the Rio Grande as part of Operation Lone Star, a multi-agency initiative to secure the border.
