A report reveals that the New York City woman accused of setting fire to her ex-boyfriend’s Queens residence, resulting in the deaths of him and another woman, is the sister of a well-known Bollywood star.
Aliya Fakhri, who was recently indicted on murder charges, is identified as the sister of Nargis Fakhri, a prominent actress in Hindi-language films in India and recognized in the US for her role in the movie “Spy.”
Nargis Fakhri has reportedly not been in contact with her sister for over two decades and has not publicly commented on Aliya’s arrest.
Aliya Fakhri, aged 43, allegedly set fire to the garage where her ex-boyfriend and the other victim were sleeping, resulting in their tragic deaths due to smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
Charged with multiple counts of murder and arson, Aliya has pleaded not guilty and could face a life sentence if convicted.
Aliya Fakhri was remanded in court and is scheduled for her next appearance on December 9. The Post has reached out to Nargis Fakhri’s representatives for a comment.
