Trump emphasized that his FDA is unlikely to limit access to medication abortions, as he is strongly against such actions. “I could potentially rule it out completely, but I prefer not to.”
Trump has pledged to ensure that the FDA does not restrict American women’s access to abortion pills.
In addition, Trump addressed the issue of preserving the filibuster in the Senate. The filibuster allows senators to delay or block a vote on legislation, requiring 60 votes to end debate instead of a simple majority of 51.
While many Democrats have criticized the filibuster, Trump expressed his support for it, stating that it makes it challenging to overturn decisions in the Senate. He also raised concerns that eliminating the filibuster could lead to Supreme Court expansion, a move favored by some Democratic lawmakers.
“I have a deep respect for the filibuster,” Trump stated.
