A 32-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot in Queens Home
Early Monday morning, a tragic incident unfolded in a Queens home where a 32-year-old woman, Jennifer Navarrete, was shot dead and her uncle was wounded. The incident took place inside their College Point multi-family home on 14th Road near 119th Street around 1:15 a.m.
Navarrete was found with a gunshot wound to her head and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS workers.
Her wounded uncle, 49, arrived at Flushing Hospital with gunshot wounds to his arm and back shortly after the incident and is in stable condition.
Investigators found a Volkswagen parked outside the building with a blood trail leading inside, believed to belong to one of the victims. Additionally, four shell casings were found at the scene.
The shooter is believed to be known to both victims. A witness reported seeing a man running off after the shooting, described to be between 20 and 30 years old. At present, no arrests have been made, and investigators are reviewing surveillance footage for leads.
