A suspect in Spain was arrested on murder and dismemberment charges after a Google Street View camera captured him allegedly loading a corpse into his car, as reported by The Times of London. The incident occurred in the town of Soria in October 2023.
The image shows a 48-year-old suspect placing a large object wrapped in white plastic into the trunk of his car. The body of the victim, Jorge Luis Perez, 32, was later found dismembered in a cemetery in Andaluz.
The suspect, along with an unidentified woman who was the victim’s former romantic partner, was arrested by the police. Perez’s torso was discovered in a decomposed state, with the rest of his remains yet to be found.
Before this incident, a Google Street View image had not been taken in the area for 15 years. The suspect in the footage was wearing jeans, a blue jacket with a soccer logo, and brown boots.
Google Street View allows users to navigate maps with real photos taken by cameras on cars driving streets worldwide.
