Specialized programs for the official victim class in colleges and corporations are being defunded or coming to an end across the nation. Some are ending due to budget cuts, while others are being eliminated as a protest against the Trump administration.
It may seem strange to those not directly involved. Questions arise like why women’s business offices are closing, why programs for African-American and Latino individuals are disappearing, and why LGBTQ programs are being deleted.
These programs were established as a result of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, which replaced affirmative action. However, they have had negative effects on the individuals and communities they were meant to support.
DEI tokenizes individuals and marks them for their entire careers, perpetuating the perception of special privilege. This can be detrimental to their self-esteem and actual achievements.
Merit should be the only standard for advancement, regardless of race, sex, or other factors. DEI is condescending and perpetuates institutionalized racism and sexism under the guise of promoting diversity.
Even those who benefit financially from DEI programs may suffer mentally and emotionally due to the lack of true recognition for their achievements. DEI creates artificial success and undermines true merit.
The turning point seems to have come with serious professions like doctors, judges, architects, and pilots, where mistakes can have grave consequences. People are beginning to reject DEI in these fields.
The end of DEI should be celebrated as it can lead to a more trusting and fair community. Women and minorities, especially those starting their careers, can now earn their success without the shadow of suspicion.
Parents should be happy that their children can enter the workforce without the burden of DEI. It is a step towards true equality and merit-based success.
It is important to question how these policies came into existence and to recognize the potential political motivations behind them. Ultimately, the end of DEI can lead to a more just and respectful society for all individuals.
The concept of the “race hustle” has evolved to encompass all aspects of society. The idea of working hard to achieve success has become the exception rather than the norm, disrupting the social cooperation that relies on voluntary choices.
There is a hidden aspect to this issue that is rarely discussed. For white males, the system has been punishing, providing them with an excuse for their lack of success. It has allowed them to blame others, fueling animosity between different groups and fostering a preoccupation with identity politics.
The end of this era is a positive development. It will take time to recover from the damage caused by these divisive and unjust policies that have affected all facets of life. Let the healing process begin.
