LOS ANGELES—Authorities announced on Friday that a recent investigation into organized retail thefts near MacArthur Park resulted in several arrests, including two children who were caught attempting to sell stolen goods to street vendors.
Investigators targeted stolen merchandise being resold to street vendors along the Alvarado Corridor between Wilshire Boulevard and Sixth Street, as reported by the LAPD.
One of the arrestees was Yoselin Quintanilla, a 31-year-old woman from Los Angeles, who was charged with felony receiving stolen property.
Additionally, three juveniles between the ages of 11 and 15 were arrested for trying to sell stolen items to vendors in the area. Three other juveniles were detained but later released—one to a diversion program and two to their parents.
Multiple adults were also arrested, with some facing charges of misdemeanor receiving stolen property and one individual arrested for shoplifting, according to police.
According to police, the operation resulted in the recovery of approximately $4,600 worth of stolen merchandise, which was returned to the respective retailers.
