Tressa Beltran, the former police chief of Hartford, Michigan, is facing serious legal trouble. She has been charged with multiple felonies, which include delivery of narcotics, larceny, extortion, using a computer to commit a crime, embezzlement over $50 by a public official, and three counts of drug possession. Shockingly, Beltran confessed to stealing from the drug disposal box at the police department. The situation has escalated further with a new lawsuit filed against Beltran and the city. The lawsuit alleges that she coerced Hai Quoc Le Jr. into giving her pain medication that he was legally prescribed for a torn ACL. Le, who is on parole, claims that Beltran threatened to make his life unbearable if he didn’t comply with her demands. This threat included reporting him to his parole officer and pressing criminal charges against him. What’s even more alarming is that Le states Beltran was in uniform and on duty during these encounters.
