Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) believes the Pentagon’s report on an object described as beyond ‘any human capability’ is ‘incomplete.’ The report, released by the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office on April 24, suggests that the UFO seen near Eglin Air Force Base in Florida on Jan. 26, 2023, was likely a “large form-factor balloon.”
Despite the Pentagon’s explanation, lawmakers like Mr. Gaetz and Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) are pushing for more transparency regarding the incident. Mr. Gaetz, who described the object at a “UFO Whistleblower” congressional hearing, remains skeptical of the Pentagon’s findings.
At the hearing, former Air Force intelligence officer David Grusch alleged the existence of UFO crash-retrieval programs dating back to the 1930s, claims that the Pentagon has denied. Mr. Gaetz, along with other lawmakers, requested to see evidence and radar signatures related to the incident.
The pilot who witnessed the object near Eglin Air Force Base described it as a “large floating orb” with unusual characteristics. Despite the Pentagon’s assertion that it was likely a balloon, Mr. Gaetz remains unconvinced, labeling the report as ‘incomplete.’
The legislator called on the government to release all incident data, including radar signatures not disclosed in the report.
In its examination of UFO history, the Pentagon mostly rejected the notion that some UFOs are inexplicable after seven years of government insiders sharing their experiences in various UFO research programs. This includes the Defense Intelligence Agency program from 2008 to 2012.
The Pentagon states, “Although many [UFO] reports remain unsolved or unidentified, AARO assesses that with more and better quality data, most cases could be identified and explained as ordinary objects or phenomena.”
The Pentagon acknowledges that sensors and visual observations are imperfect, and that the majority of cases lack actionable data or have limited and poor quality data.
However, some critics are not satisfied with the Pentagon’s findings. Researcher John Greenewald Jr., who manages the government document archive known as the Black Vault, has pointed out discrepancies in the Pentagon’s previous statements regarding UFOs.
Mr. Burchett has expressed concerns about the Pentagon’s transparency regarding UFOs and the taxpayer money spent on UFO research since the 1940s.
The Epoch Times has requested a comment from the Pentagon regarding these issues. Please rewrite the following sentence: “The company is planning to expand its operations into international markets next year.”
