Christopher Gregor, the New Jersey father accused of the murder of his 6-year-old son Corey Micciolo by forcing him to run on a treadmill at high speeds, is reported to be the son of a former New Jersey state trooper.
David Gregor, 64, was described in a 2022 Jersey Shore Online article as a “highly decorated” trooper who retired as a lieutenant before 2013, as indicated in his mother’s obituary. He later served as the coordinator for the Middlesex County Comprehensive Traffic Safety Program.
Gregor, 31, is currently on trial for Corey’s murder. He is accused of causing the 6-year-old boy’s death on April 2, 2021.
Gregor, a former high school football star and youth mentor, attended Monroe Township High School where he excelled in academics and sports. He was selected to be part of the district’s “Heroes and Cool Kids” mentorship program for middle schoolers.
His LinkedIn profile lists his most recent job as a real estate agent at Red Door Real Estate in New Jersey.
Gregor has had multiple run-ins with the law in several states, including Connecticut and Maryland, with charges including assault, robbery, and destruction of property.
Surveillance footage from a Middletown, NJ, country club gym captured Gregor putting Corey through a grueling workout due to concerns about the boy’s weight.
He forced Corey to run on a treadmill at high speeds, causing the boy to fall multiple times before ultimately succumbing to his injuries in the hospital.
Gregor faces life in prison if convicted and is currently held without bond at Ocean County Jail.
