Former President Donald Trump is seeking fundraising support following a New York judge’s ruling that found him in contempt of court for violating a gag order.
Judge Juan Merchan recently fined President Trump $9,000 for making multiple social media and online posts that breached the gag order. The order prohibits Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, from making comments about witnesses, jury members, or other individuals involved in his ongoing criminal trial in New York City.
One of Trump’s campaign emails exclaimed, “A Democrat judge JUST HELD ME IN CONTEMPT OF COURT!” Another email urged supporters to “stand with Trump” and contribute funds to help him fight against efforts to silence him.
