$147.6 million funding has been allocated to support the development of common user network infrastructure in the North West Interconnected System.
Western Australia (WA) has dedicated $502 million (US$331 million) to accelerate the state’s efforts towards a cleaner, more affordable, and reliable energy future.
Premier Roger Cook stated that this fund will facilitate the attraction of major clean industries to strategic industrial areas across WA, including Latitude 32 in Kwinana, Karratha, the Peel region, the Goldfields, and South West.
The funding includes a $324 million investment for the planning and procurement of long-lead transmission infrastructure for the state’s primary electricity network. This investment is expected to drive industry growth, renewable energy projects, and renewable energy usage.
