Sarah Elfreth has secured a win against former Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn in a solidly Democrat district. Dunn gained fame following the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Elfreth’s victory positions her as the likely successor to retiring Rep. John Sarbanes (D-Md.), who has served in Congress since 2007.
Elfreth’s campaign received support from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, cementing her position as the frontrunner in the race.
