Disneyland’s beloved “Fantasmic!” show is making its highly-anticipated return on Friday, May 24, after being on hiatus for nearly a year due to a fire incident involving the attraction’s iconic dragon prop.
The show will feature a reimagined battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent, showcasing Mickey’s magical powers and Maleficent’s fiery presence.
Originally debuting in Frontierland in 1992, “Fantasmic!” combines fireworks, Disney characters, live actors, water effects, pyrotechnics, music, and more to create a spectacular nighttime show.
Despite the absence of the dragon, the revamped show promises to uphold its original charm, including the iconic “Peter Pan” scene and the introduction of The Lost Boys joining Peter Pan and Wendy in a battle against Captain Hook on a pirate ship.
