A homeless man on parole for felony assault has been arrested for randomly punching an elderly woman in the head in Brooklyn, according to cops and law enforcement sources.Â
Mouhamed Diallo, 29, attacked his 72-year-old victim at the corner of Fourth Avenue and 96th Street in Bay Ridge around 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, authorities reported.Â
After the assault, the attacker fled the scene, leaving the senior woman with bleeding and swelling to her head, as per the police.Â
She was transported to Maimonides Medical Center, where she was reported to be in stable condition.Â
A surveillance photo of the suspect was released, and Diallo was apprehended around 6 p.m. on Thursday and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, according to the police.Â
He was captured in the area covered by the NYPD’s 60th Precinct, which includes Coney Island, Brighton Beach, and Sea Gate neighborhoods.Â
Diallo has been arrested 10 times — eight for assault and two for robbery, according to authorities.Â
Five of the assaults occurred in Brooklyn, with three of them taking place inside a correctional facility in the Bronx, sources indicated.
One of the arrests was for felony assault, and Diallo was released in February for that crime and put on parole until November 2028, law enforcement sources mentioned.
He was apprehended on the same day as another individual who randomly punched and slashed a 64-year-old woman in a brutal attack on a Queens street, as reported by the police.
