A family in Mississippi is currently living in fear following an alarming incident where armed carjackers opened fire on them and almost abducted their two young children. The Allen family is deeply concerned that the dangerous thieves, who are still at large, might seek retaliation after the family shared the harrowing attack captured on camera with a news channel.
Heather Allen, one of the victims involved in the incident, expressed her fear during an interview with “Fox & Friends First,” stating, “We have to get out of here. It’s not safe. Especially not now, with all the news and stuff because their picture, it’s getting out here, and I’m afraid they’re going to retaliate.”
Allen, who recently moved to Jackson, Mississippi, revealed that the incident was the final straw that prompted her decision to leave the crime-ridden city, which she described as worse than Memphis, Tennessee.
During the brazen daylight attack, two armed individuals approached Allen and her adult son while they were near their car in the driveway, with one of the men firing a shot towards them, causing the family to seek cover behind the vehicle.
Thankfully, Allen and her family managed to escape the dangerous situation, but the trauma of the event has left them shaken and worried about potential retaliation from the carjackers.
The criminals forcibly removed Allen’s daughter from the car and attempted to drive away with the vehicle, pointing a gun at her son in the process. However, they abandoned the car a short distance away after a brief chase.
Despite the terrifying ordeal, the Allen family was relieved to have their car returned to them after it was impounded by the police for evidence processing. The suspects remain at large, but one individual has been identified by authorities thanks to surveillance footage from a nearby store.
