April Price found herself face to face with her past while watching television after walking her dog in 2014. A news program reported that there was audio of former “7th Heaven” star Stephen Collins confessing to engaging in sexual misconduct with underage girls, which was leaked to TMZ. The recording was from a 2012 counseling session given to the police by the actor’s estranged wife.
Price, the only accuser speaking out in the scandal that tarnished Collins’ career, shared her story on Investigation Discovery’s new series, “Hollywood Demons,” hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky.
During the first episode featuring Collins, Price detailed how he exposed himself to her multiple times when she was just 13 years old. Despite the allegations, many associated with Collins declined to participate or respond to the producers’ outreach.
Price, now a mother, decided to speak out to empower others who may have faced similar experiences. She recounted her encounters with Collins when she was a teenager visiting her aunt in Los Angeles, where the incidents took place.
Over the years, Price struggled to come to terms with what happened and eventually confronted Collins when they crossed paths on a set later in life. She claimed that Collins apologized for his actions, which initially gave her a sense of relief.
Collins’ admission of inappropriate behavior led to the disappearance of “7th Heaven” reruns from TV and a significant impact on his acting career. Despite his public statements expressing regret and seeking treatment, Price remains the sole accuser to speak out against him.
Price, despite feeling sick revisiting her past, hopes that sharing her story will empower others to speak up about their traumas. “Hollywood Demons” airs on Investigation Discovery on Mondays at 9 p.m.
