Air Canada has announced that it has reached a tentative agreement with the union representing over 5,200 of its pilots in Montreal.
The news of this preliminary deal comes just in time, as it was reached days before a potential work stoppage.
The country’s largest airline has assured that both Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge will continue to operate as usual while union members vote on the tentative four-year contract.
Customers who had utilized the labor disruption policy to change flights scheduled between Sunday and Sept. 23 can now switch back to their original booking in the same cabin without any additional cost, subject to availability.
The airline acknowledges the professionalism and contributions of its pilots in the new four-year contract.
The terms of the agreement will remain confidential until the membership completes the ratification vote, which is expected to be finalized within the next month.
