A man accused of killing and dismembering 19-year-old college student Sade Robinson was found to have a sex dungeon in the basement of his Milwaukee home. Authorities discovered blood smeared on the bed and walls of the staircase leading to the disturbing cellar.
Interestingly, the blood found at Maxwell Anderson’s property does not belong to Robinson, according to the Wisconsin police.
In his basement, Anderson had a collection of disturbing items including a sex sling, restraints, and handcuffs, as reported by a police source to the Post.
Despite small windows in the basement, a neighbor mentioned that they were covered up to prevent anyone from seeing inside.
“There were some sort of blinds,” says Ali Maguire, who often walks her dogs along the streets of the normally quiet, tree-lined middle-class neighborhood.
“It never crossed my mind that there could be something like that here. It’s just sick. It’s depraved, and I can’t stop thinking about it.”
Anderson, 33, has been charged with murder, arson, and mutilation of a corpse. He pleaded not guilty on Monday.
Authorities believe Anderson killed and dismembered Sade Carleena Robinson after their first date on April 1. Surveillance footage shows Anderson and Robinson enjoying themselves at a restaurant and bar. However, she was never seen again.
After a welfare check at Robinson’s home on April 3 yielded no results, her sawed-off leg was discovered on the shores of Lake Michigan later that day. Various body parts have been found in different locations around Milwaukee, with some still missing.
On April 4, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Anderson’s residence, where blood was found on bedding and walls leading to the basement. Additionally, several gas containers were located in the garage and storage area.
Although Robinson’s blood has been excluded, it remains uncertain if the sample could match Anderson’s DNA.
“It just indicates that the preliminary DNA analysis supports the conclusion there is no support for inclusion of Robinson’s DNA in any of the blood or swabs that have been tested, and in some of those, her DNA’s been excluded,” wrote Assistant Milwaukee County DA Ian Vance-Curzan.
The complaint against Anderson includes additional evidence such as phone records and surveillance videos placing him at the locations where Robinson’s remains were dumped. A witness also claimed to have seen Anderson setting fire to Robinson’s 2020 Honda Civic on a street corner in North Milwaukee.
Clothing matching what Robinson wore on the date was found scorched inside the vehicle.
Robinson, a criminal justice student at Milwaukee Area Technical College, had agreed to go on a first date with Anderson and expressed her excitement to an employee at her apartment building.
As investigations continue into the final hours of Robinson’s life, Anderson’s father offered condolences to her family.
“On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to express our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Sade Robinson,” Steven Anderson stated. “We are shocked and devastated by her senseless death.”
However, Robinson’s family is struggling with anger and confusion.
Robinson’s mother, Sheena Scarbrough, referred to Anderson as a “sick son of a [expletive]” after his charges were announced.
“Who the [expletive] would do something like this to my beautiful baby? She hurt nobody. She harmed nobody,” she expressed to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Anderson is currently held on a $5 million bond and is scheduled to appear in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on May 16.
