UnitedHealthcare CEO Killed in Targeted Attack
Police are working to identify the individual responsible for the targeted attack that resulted in the death of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, America’s largest health insurance company.
The CEO, Brian Thompson, aged 50, was shot and killed by a masked assailant outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan on December 4. The attack took place as Thompson was preparing to attend the company’s annual investor conference.
Surveillance footage suggests that the weapon used in the attack may have been equipped with a silencer.
The perpetrator fled the scene on an e-bike heading towards Central Park, and is currently at large.
