Omer Neutra, a 21-year-old American Israeli military member, has passed away, according to Israeli officials.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Dec. 2 that Omer Neutra “was killed in battle on Oct. 7 and his body has been held hostage in Gaza since.” Neutra had served as a platoon commander in Israeli’s Armored Corps.
The IDF confirmed the death through unspecified intelligence. Neutra’s family had been advocating for his release and had met with U.S. President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House in Washington in July, along with relatives of other Americans believed to be held hostage by the Hamas terrorist group.
This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
