Former Governor Andrew Cuomo visits the New York Post Editorial Board on March 17. Tamara Beckwith
During a two-hour Post editorial meeting, ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo refused to take responsibility for his actions and denied making mistakes as he seeks to become New York City’s mayor.
Cuomo shifted blame to left-wing politicians and refused to admit fault for lenient criminal justice laws he signed into effect, claiming others were responsible for the issues facing New York.
Even when confronted about his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cuomo failed to acknowledge any wrongdoing, including defending the directive that required nursing homes to accept coronavirus patients, which critics argue led to increased spread and deaths among vulnerable residents.
Despite mounting evidence against him, Cuomo continued to deny any wrongdoing and dismissed accusations that he steered COVID-19 patients into nursing homes for political reasons.
Cuomo also defended his sanctuary city and state policies, including allowing illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses and blocking access to state data by the Trump administration.
Despite facing criticism for his green energy policies, Cuomo stood by his decisions to shut down nuclear power plants and ban fracking for natural gas, as well as approving legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in New York.
Throughout the meeting, Cuomo refused to admit fault for his actions and deflected blame onto others, showcasing a lack of accountability for his decisions.
