What manners!
A gunman attempted to rob a man of his phone in Central Park on Saturday, only to return it and apologize because it was not the one he was looking for, according to the victim.
Police sources reported that the incident took place around 7:50 a.m. at East 106th Street and East Drive.
The victim mentioned that he had stopped by the lake for a smoke when the armed robber, carrying a 9mm Glock, approached him from behind and demanded his phone.
Although the victim handed over his device, it did not meet the robber’s expectations.
“This wasn’t the phone I was looking for,” the thief reportedly said before returning it to the victim and apologizing.
The suspect then fled the park at 106th Street and Fifth Avenue, as per the victim.
NYPD aviation was present at the scene. The perpetrator is believed to be around 26 years old, last seen wearing dark pants and a black hoodie.
